Residential Construction Field Supervisor
San Antonio/Selma, TX
AUTHORITY: To act in the best interest of Beyer Air Conditioning and Heating and be self-motivated in taking the initiative in problem solving. Supervision over the Residential Construction technicians, apprentices, and sub-contractors. In the absence of the Construction Manager, make decisions and take actions necessary in the best interest of Beyer Air Conditioning and Heating. Maximizing customer satisfaction and producing a profit for the company. He will be under the direct supervision and derives his authority from the Construction Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To start no later than 7:00 a.m. to coordinate the days jobs
- For the safety of all construction department employees.
- For enforcement of company safety policies and procedures with installers and apprentices.
- To help in Replacement department when needed and be the back up when Install Supervisor is out of office
- To provide excellent and quality customer service as per core values.
- To provide leadership and positive motivation for the installers and sub-contractors.
- To maintain high morale among all construction department employees.
- To train installers and apprentices on installation, customer service, and technical skills for jobs of the highest quality and standards.
- To monitor and reduce labor waste to improve the construction department operations.
- Lead monthly construction department meetings with field crews and track efficiency
- Coordinate and Schedule Inspections with Cathy
- To ensure that any unfinished installation jobs are followed up.
- Scheduling of installation jobs in a timely manner with builders and sub-contractors and keep schedule up to date in smart sheet
- Capture pictures on all jobs through service titan
- Manage labor on all projects and making sure timelines are hit on rough in and trim out
- Scheduling deliveries with warehouse supervisor in timely manner
- To be available for after-hours emergencies and be available according to the on-call schedule.
- Follow EPA and company CFC policies.
- To control the inventory for all construction projects
- Visit jobsites and do on the job training with leads or sub-contractors in any way needed to improve job completion time
- Work closely with warehouse personnel to ensure equipment and materials are ready to go for each job
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED OR DESIRABLE:
- High school diploma. Formal customer relations and telephone training desirable.
- Computer literate. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows desirable. Ability to work with computerized dispatching, word processors, spreadsheets and databases.
- Self-starter, ability to work without close supervision.
- Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively with both customers and Residential field employees.
- High level of understanding of technical terms and parts related to the heating, air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration trades.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to motivate skilled and valued employees.
- Salesmanship and promotion skills. The ability to seek and bring in additional construction business.
- An understanding of selling prices, direct cost, margins, overhead expenses and the relation between all four.
- An understanding of the importance of continuous training and skills enhancement.
SECONDARY JOBS:
- Hire, recognize, promote, reprimand and terminate employees
- Conduct quarterly employee reviews with leads and apprentices
- Meet with and coordinate with general contractors and be point of contact
- Be available to visit with construction manager to look at jobs for estimating purposes
